First of all, we sincerely hope that the very first thing you encounter is friendly and welcoming people. We love to see new faces and would be honored to meet you.
What’s Service Like?
Well, first of all, we sincerely hope that the very first thing you encounter is friendly and welcoming people. We love to see new faces and would be honored to meet you.
As the service begins, you will notice that our worship is contemporary, and played with passion. Bethel believes in a very personal and expressive form of worship. We believe that the worship service is a time of true interaction with God. People will clap and raise their hands. Others may raise their voices. All of these expressions are modeled for us in the Bible.
We also believe in the gifts of the Spirit. Someone may speak out with a message for the church, another may actually speak in another language, or “tongues”. Please don’t be nervous! This is a gift from God. In the event someone would speak in tongues, the pastor will explain and wait for an interpretation from God. Some get nervous with this, but God can perform a powerful work through these spoken gifts.
When the speaker brings the message, they will simply convey a message from the Bible (God’s Word) that will be relevant to our lives. At the end of the message, they will generally issue a challenge, and perhaps invite people to come forward in response. During that time, our prayer team will be at the altar. God hears prayer! If you have needs or concerns that trouble you, feel free to ask one of these people to pray for you. If you’re not one to “step out” and go forward, be confident that God will hear your prayers from wherever you whisper them!
What Should I Wear?
We want you to be as comfortable as possible here at Bethel. If you want to wear sweatpants and a hoodie, we are fine with that. If you want to wear the best outfit you own, we are fine with that too.
